Toshiba Sound Pillow

Know anyone who has trouble sleeping? Forget those mini-water fountains and thunderstorm CDs.

Check out this new pillow from Toshiba Japan. Dubbed “Oto Makura” (literally: noise pillow), this headrest has stereo speakers built in that will play ambient noise, talk radio, anything really – the wireless infrared base station will transmit the signal of whichever device you choose (CD player, television, radio, etc.).

How is it different from American-made sound pillows, let alone simply putting speakers on your nightstand? Toshiba uses newly patented “bone conduction speakers” that promise to insert the sound into your dreams.

Does it work? For a starting price of $200 and a trip to Japan to get it, it had better!
