The Mind Molester from Shomer-TecInsert evil laughter here...

F
or only US$19, you can play one of the cruelest, most infuriating practical jokes ever developed.

The Mind Molester from Shomer-Tec is an inch-long circuit that you attach to a 9-volt battery and hide in someone's home, office or car.

Once hooked up, the unit lets out a short, shrill, smoke detector-esque beep once every three or four minutes.

"I spent a lot of time finding a frequency that is difficult to detect where it's coming from," says the device's inventor, Joel [last name withheld because Shomer-Tec makes military products].

"Plus, it beeps so infrequently that I guarantee it will take someone hours, if not days, to find this thing." We tested the unit on several victims. It works. www.shomer-tec.com

The Gadget Home

E
ver locked yourself out of your home because you simply forgot to take your keys?

It's frustrating ain't it? By then, the only solution is to call up your locksmith and that means more hassle and you might just be late for work.

But thankfully technology is catching on. These days, there are 'key-less' door locks available and they not only look good, but function well too.

The Gadget Home (www.thegadgethome.com) is one such company that sells these 'smart' digital locks. Their door locks make use of a completely digital system, which requires you to simply key in your PIN code, or flash your RFID pass card. It's as simple as that. No more keys, no more inconvenience.

The RFID cards are almost impossible to duplicate and you can even request for the chip to be embedded in your phone instead. No longer do you have to worry about would-be thieves unpicking your lock because this digital lock cannot possibly be tempered with.

Besides, their locks can be configured to automatic or manual lock. It comes with a loud alarm function at an event of a break-in. It has an internal forced lock when the family is at home.

So these locks are not only easy to use, but help ensure safety in your household. It doesn't matter if you forgot to lock your home when you step out; these digital locks will automatically lock up for you.

There are many different models available in various colours and designs so check them out and increase your home security.

Singaporeans have bad taste. At least a lot of them. I'm not sure if it's some sort of national illness, or inborn pomposity, or perhaps it doesn't just apply to Singaporeans. FashionBrain.com explains...
